Return to the Table

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies.  Psalm 23:5

Description

This story is about a fictional church with irreverent leaders, and all are named Christian; but there’s an unusual twist.  The main characters are biblical scriptures, while some characters are the opposite of scriptures.  These irreverent leaders are often in competition with one another, but they consider it ministry.

Brother Christian believes he has charisma, but it's his humongous ego! He often uses the Bible to manipulate people, young, old, and especially immature, solely for his benefit. He also regularly assaults his wife, Mrs. Christian.

After another Sunday fight, he uses the Shepherd of Psalm 23 against her, especially verse 5.  Later, when he decides to take a nap, just before falling asleep, he hazily envisions the Shepherd - STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM!  Soon he is dead asleep, yet wide awake in a strange yet familiar place.

Brother Christian will soon understand the meaning of “in the presence” from verse 5 as he is immersed in the greatest battle over his soul! He ends up wholly traumatized!  Who or what did Brother Christian discover about the Shepherd, or himself, while "in the presence?"
